El Dorado and The Road Not Taken

Hello Class!

Please read the two poems in the attached document and post the following, as a comment on this entry:
  1. When you come to a "fork" in the road of your life, and you have two roads, but you do not know which one to take, how can you choose the "correct" one?
  2. How do you know if choosing the other one would have been better?
  3. What is it that you are searching in your life as you are young?
  4. Do we ever reach what we are seeking in life? Explain.
  5. Find one of your classmate's answer to these questions and comment/debate it.

Remember that opinions can not be exactly the same, and if you do not answer every question to the detail, you will not get all the points for your comments.

Deadline: Wednesday, March 1st, at 11:59pm.

The Monkeys Paw

Welcome to The Teaching of Literature!

We are going to have a great time learning everything we need to know in order to enjoy literature first, to be able to teach it effectively.

To start with this blog, please answer the following:

  1. The Whites' first wish is for two hundred pounds, but they get them on the next day as a compensation for the grotesque death of their son when trapped in some machinery. What was the problem with their second wish?
  2. What do you think was their third wish? Why?
  3. What would you do differently in any point of the story? Explain.

Remember that opinions can not be exactly the same, and if you do not answer every question to the detail, you will not get all the points for your comments.

Deadline: Sunday, February 19th, at 11:59pm.
